Many of us have heard about the glorious days of early Palm Springs, the desert oasis that attracted the beautiful people for fun in the sun. With the desire to bring back some of that appeal, the leaders of Cathedral City set out over a decade ago to restore the city’s 25-acre aging downtown area. Millions of dollars and millions of man hours later, community redevelopment has changed the face of the revitalized Cathedral City into an inviting pedestrian-friendly, economically vibrant entertainment center. A desert-inspired Mediterranean theme is accented by open courtyards, covered walkways, colonnades and arcades. The result is the ideal environment for a variety of new shops, restaurants, entertainment and cultural venues.
Golf
The Palm Springs/Cathedral City area has an abundance of both public and private golf courses, all easily accessible by walking or driving. Cimarron Golf Resort and Date Palm Country Club are public facilities, Cathedral Canyon Country Club is semi-private, and the Desert Princess Country Club is private. All four of these are located in Cathedral City. Additional golf information can be found on the following websites:
